At the moment I’m visiting my uncle in Western Australia. He’s a ranger at the beautiful Cape Le Grande national park and in the park there’s a large rock formation known as Frenchman’s Peak. Here’s a quick pic.
It’s named after the distinct little shape at the top that looks suspiciously like a beret. There’s a cave at the top and it’s well worth climbing for the view if you’re in the area.
Anyway, as I took the photo above I was thinking about all the different ways I could draw what I was looking at – a common thought in my life. I settled on an imagined view of the frenchman who would have inspired the name and whose physique is reflected in the natural form above. I hope you like the result…
